Frequently Asked Questions about Grooming

Does my pet need to be a patient at AMC to get groomed?

Our grooming services are limited to existing clients of AMC due to unprecedented high demand.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that life happens—people get sick, the car breaks down, inclement weather, etc. Therefore, we’ll waive up to $58 in Grooming No Show/Cancellation fees once per client, no questions asked. In order to offer high-quality pet grooming at a competitive rate, our Pet Stylists are paid on commission and respectfully request at least 24-hours’ notice for cancellations.

Please understand that when you forget or cancel your appointment without adequate notice, we miss the opportunity to fill that appointment spot, and clients on our waiting list miss the opportunity to receive services. Scheduled appointments receive courtesy reminders because we know how easy it is to forget an appointment you booked months ago. Since the services are reserved for your pet specifically, a Cancellation fee will apply.

What time are your grooming appointments scheduled?

Most grooming appointments are scheduled to have pets arrive between 7:30 to 8:30 AM. We offer a few appointments during the week with pets to arrive between 12:00 to 1:00 PM.

Our grooming professionals strive for a stress free environment and provide a high quality service. With these standards we appreciate your patience and flexibility so that we may have the time to maintain and achieve this goal. If needed, pets may stay during your work day at no additional charge. You and your groomer can decide on a pick-up time together.

We are a busy salon during peak seasons and holidays. We are currently scheduling appointments about 4 months out.

How will my pet be cared for?

Safety and comfort of your pet is our top priority. Pets are kenneled separately according to their size, allowing them space to stand and complete a full circle. Fresh water and cage quilts are provided as well. Cats are ensured the same kennel care during their grooming appointment, with the addition of a litter box. Owners may provide food to be given if needed.

Bathroom breaks are given throughout the day. Owners may request that multiple pet families be kenneled together or NOT be kenneled at all for necessary medical reasons. Pets may be kennel-dried and/or hand-dried depending on the breed, medical history, and comfort of the pet.

Please discuss with your groomer any allergies or medical concerns that require special handling of your pet.

How much does it cost for pet grooming?

Our grooming fees are based on time and product, with a base price for each breed.  Factors that affect pricing include size, coat condition, matting, health or behavior issues, and specified style of haircut.  Please call the office (616-531-7387) for a price estimate based on breed.
